ZESCO United Football Academy

ZESCO United was established in 1974. In 2009, they became the first team from Zambia to get to the CAF African Champions League group stage. Nkana and Green Buffaloes are the other Zambian clubs and ZESCO United that have never lost at home against non-Zambian opponents. 

When ZESCO United faced Zenit Saint Petersburg in Abu Dhabi in 2008, they made history by playing against a European team for the first time in this century.

They advanced to their first-ever CAF African Champions League semifinals with a 2-2 draw away to Egyptian league champions Al Ahly on Matchday 5 of the Champions League quarterfinal group stage.

On Saturday, September 17, 2016, they defeated South African league winners Mamelodi Sundowns at home by a 2-1 to extend their overall home winning streak against non-Zambian opponents to 26 games.

The team made history by being the first in Zambia to sign Asian players, including Japanese player Kosuke Nakamachi.

National Football Academy of Nkana

One of Zambia's earliest football clubs, Nkana FC, was founded in Kitwe's Wusakile settlement in 1935. Before adopting its current moniker, Nkana Red Devils, the team was initially based as Rhokana United F.C.

The only Zambian squad to ever make it to the finals, they finished as runners-up in the 1990 edition of the African Cup of Champions. In addition, nine league championships were won by Nkana between 1982 and 1993, a period of sustained success for the team. 

Around this time, several well-known players ran out for Nkana, who Moses Simwala coached. At Kitwe's Wusakile neighborhood, Nkana Stadium serves as their home field.

Power Dynamos Football Academy

The MTN/FAZ Super Division football team from Kitwe, Zambia, is called Power Dynamos. This is because the Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe is where they have their home games.

Currently, Copperbelt Energy Corporation is the club's sponsor.

Formerly known as Zambian Army, the Green Buffaloes Football Club was established in 1965 and is currently sponsored by the Zambian Army. One of the most successful clubs in Zambian football history, Green Buffaloes dominated most of the 1970s and into the 1990s.

The team competes in the FAZ/MTN Super League, the top football division in Zambia. It has its headquarters in the country's capital, Lusaka. Five League Cups, four Shield Challenge Cups, three Charity Shields Cups, two Heroes and Unit Cups, three Champions of Champions, one B.P. Challenge Cup, one Mosi Cup Champion, and one Barclays Cup have been won by the team.

GBFC is one of the four teams to have won three League trophies consecutively. The Green Buffaloes won the League, Champions of Champions, and Shield Challenge Cup in 1975, taking home three trophies.

Then, the team replicated the feat by taking home three titles in 1979.

Kabwe Warriors Football Academy

Formerly known as Broken Hill United, the team adopted its current moniker, Kabwe Warriors, in 1966. The Kabwe-based Kabwe Warriors compete in the Zambian Premier League. They are a football team from Zambia. At Railway Stadium in Kabwe, they hold their home matches.

They have won more trophies than any other team in Zambia, only being surpassed by Mufulira Wanderers. However, they last won the league championship in 1987. Zambia Railways is the club's sponsor.

Lusaka Youth Football Academy

A professional football team from Zambia named Konkola Blades plays in the Zambian Premier League and is headquartered in Chililabombwe. Their home games are held at Chililabombwe's 20,000-seat Konkola Stadium.
