Top 10 Best Football Academies in Tunisia

Tunisia is the most northern nation in Africa, formally known as the Republic of Tunisia. Its borders with Libya to the southeast, Algeria to the west and southwest, and the Mediterranean Sea to the north and east form part of the Maghreb region of North Africa.

Just like in every other country, football is one of the sports that thrive in Africans Nations like Tunisia. This article, however, evaluates football academies in Tunisia where anyone residing in Tunisia or her citizens can upgrade their football skills. Below are some of them.

AS Ariana

Football club Association Sportive d'Ariana, AS Ariana, is based in Aryanah, Tunisia. The 1938-founded team wears the colors white, gray, and black. The 7,000-seat Municipal Stadium of Ariana serves as their home field. Their stadium is located in Tunisia at Ground Stadium Municipal d'Ariana.

Étoile Sportive du Sahel Academy (ESSA)

The football and basketball teams of the Étoile Sportive du Sahel, a sports club from Sousse in Tunisia's Sahel area, are its main draws. In addition, the Club also offers divisions for wrestling, judo, handball, and volleyball. ESS was established on May 11, 1925, following a general assembly presided over by Chedly Boujemla.

ESS was based on May 11, 1925, following a broad group presided over by Chedly Boujemla. Étoile du Sahel was the first Tunisian Club to compete globally in the FIFA World Cup. They participated in the fifth competition, which was held in Japan in 2007. 

After Al Ahly SC in 2006, the Club overcame Pachuca CF in the quarterfinal of the 2007 FIFA Club World Cup, becoming the second Club to do so as the representative of CAF.

Académie de Football de Kairouan (AFK)

Football club Association Sportive de Djerba, or ASD, is in Houmet Es'Souk, Djerba, Tunisia. The team's primary colors are white and green, and Jilani Anane served as its first president when it was founded in 1946. Stade Houmet Es'Souk, where they play, has a seating capacity of 12,000 people.

The Tunisian managers is Abdelhay Ben Soltane (August 5, 2014–)

Académie de Football de Sfax (AFS)

Club Sportif Sfaxien, more frequently referred to as CS Sfaxien, is a Tunisian football team based in the city of Sfax that was established in 1928. The organization is the football division of Club sportif sfaxien, a multi-sports club with the same name.

The CSS has traditionally been the most well-liked Club in the Sfax area. Since 1969, the football squad has consistently held the top positions in domestic and international events. 

The blacks and whites, who have played in the Taeb-Mehiri stadium since it was built, have won two Leagues of Arab champions, a CAF cup, three confederation cups, eight Tunisian championships, and seven cups between them (2007, 2008, and 2013). ( 2000, 2004 ).

 

AS Kasserine

In Kasserine, Tunisia, there is a football team called Avenir Sportif de Kasserine. In addition, the Ligue 1 team develops. Basketball and Handball teams are also available at the Club.


In 1948, the Club was established. When they were initially promoted to Ligue 1 after the 1987 season, the team experienced its golden age in the late 1980s. The team played in the top division for three straight seasons before being demoted once more to Ligue 2, where they remained until 1992, when they were briefly reinstated to Ligue 1 for one season before being demoted again.

They returned to Ligue 1 in 2008 and then once more in 2015.

Union Sportive Monastirienne

Football team Union Sportive Monastirienne, or USM, hails from Tunisia's Monastir. It competes in the top division of Tunisian professional football, known as Ligue Professionnelle 1.

Ruspina Sports, the organization's original name at the founding, was changed to Union Sportive Monastirienne in 1942. The new name honors the merger of Ruspina Sports with other local clubs (such as swimming, petanque, etc.) and the Monastir Nationalists (like Mustapha Ben Jannet).

As a result of its victories in the 2020 Tunisian Cup and Tunisian Super Cup, Monastir has won two trophies in its history.

CS Chebba

The Tunisian football team, CS Chebba, represents Chebba in Tunisia in the 2019–20 Tunisian League Professionnelle 1. It was established in 1960 in Chebba, a Tunisia's Sahel area city. The Club debuted in the Tunisian Cup in 1999, making it as far as the round of 32 before being defeated by AS Gabès.

It debuted in the Tunisian League Professionnelle 3 in 2015, finishing fourth in the southern division till 2017. However, the team won group B the same year it made its debut in Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2 and, for the first time in its history, was promoted to Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 for the 2019–20 season.

 

El Ahly Mateur

El Ahly Mateur is a Tunisian football club headquartered in the town of Mateur in the governorate of Bizerte. The team is presently a part of Ligue Professional 2. 

To compete with the French neighborhood team l'Espérance de Mateur and the Italian Club Juventus Mateur, the Club was founded in 1947 as the Association of Mateur Alumni as a club for Tunisian players.

The Club was renamed En Nadi Ahly Mateur when its two local opponents disbanded following Tunisia's independence in 1956. The Club was promoted to the top league after winning the Northern Division of the second tier in 1961–1962. 

They stayed in the top division until 1965–1966 when they were demoted after finishing last. The Club changed its name after the current campaign.

Grombalia Sports

In the north-east Tunisian city of Grombalia, there is a football team called Grombalia Sports. The team's colors are white and blue, founded in 1939. Currently, the team competes in Tunisia's League Professionnelle 2.


Their field is the 3,000-seat Municipal Stadium of Grombalia.

 

La Palme Sportive de Tozeu

The football team from Tozeur, Tunisia, is called La Palme Sportive de Tozeur, or LPS Tozeur, and was founded in 1945. it has green and yellow uniforms. Currently, the team competes in Tunisia's League Professionnelle 3.

Tunisian League Professionnelle awards three times in 1991, 1999, and 2009.
