Zeldin tweeted on Monday afternoon, "The GOP is replete with incredible talent to defend our country from the failing ideas of the Biden Admin. Trump, the 45th and 47th President of the United States, will be our nominee in 2024. Due to this, our lives will be more liberated, our economy will be more robust, and our streets will be safer.
He has my utmost backing. Zeldin served as the representative for his Long Island district in Congress from 2015 until he resigned to run for governor earlier this year. While running for governor of New York, he scarcely mentioned Trump, viewed as toxic in the state and a fervent supporter while serving in Congress.
However, Trump and Zeldin attended one out-of-state fundraiser. Zeldin's support for Trump signals his return to the former US president's camp at a time when Trump's 2024 presidential campaign appears to be gaining momentum.
Even though the former president has been charged with charges relating to his alleged role in a payout to an adult film star who claimed they did have a romantic encounter.
In polls, Trump is performing better than his presumed rivals, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who had been seen as a formidable opponent, is faltering.

DeSantis received some of the loudest cheers at the Republican Jewish Coalition conference in Las Vegas last November. He is currently on an official tour of Israel. Unfortunately, only a few attendees appeared enthusiastic about Trump's candidature, and he only spoke through a video message.
Zeldin joined the board of the Republican Jewish Coalition soon after, becoming one of the only Jewish Republicans to come close to winning in a solidly blue state.
