Following the announcement of his decision to run for reelection in 2024, 86-year-old U.S. President Joe Biden is expected to beg voters for more time to "finish the job."
Joe Biden has declared that he will seek reelection in 2024 and is scheduled to inform voters of his decision formally. And when asked last night if he will be running again, Biden replied, "Yes!"
The declaration comes precisely four years after he announced his first bid for the White Houseromising to restore the "soul of the nation" amidst the unrest caused by the volatile presidency of then-president Donald Trump.
Biden, already the oldest president in history, hopes his legislative successes and over 50 years of experience in Washington, D.C., outweigh any age-related worries. A sizeable portion of Democratic voters has preferred that he not run, partly due to his advanced age, which Mr. Biden has called "totally legitimate."

However, few factors have brought together Democratic voters more than the possibility of a Trump presidency. Mr. Biden's position has stabilized within his party after the Democrats outperformed expectations in the midterm elections last year.
Although Mr. Trump, 76, is the favorite to become the Republican nominee, he still has a lot to overcome, including the distinction of becoming the first president to be charged with a crime.
Despite concerns about his readiness to run outside his increasingly Republican-leaning state, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has emerged as an early alternative in the unpredictable remaining Republican field.
When Mr. Biden remarked, "Let's finish the job," he referred to several issues, including codifying a national right to abortion following the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision last year, banning assault-style weapons, and more.
Encouraged by the midterm results, Mr. Biden intends to keep portraying all Republicans as supporting "ultra-MAGA" policies. This is about Mr. Trump's "Make America Great Again" catchphrase, not whether his predecessor is on the 2024 ballot.

The previous few months have seen him put his campaign's ideas to the test. This portrayed Republicans as pushing for tax cuts for corporations and the rich while attempting to reduce social safety net programs relied on by average Americans. Democrats generally prefer that Mr. Biden not run for office again.
Just 47% of Democrats, up from 37% in February, said they want him to run for a second term. This was according to polling from The Associated Press-NORC Centre for Public Affairs Research.
