Seven teachers were fatally shot, In KP's Upper Kurram school

According to law enforcement officials, at least seven school teachers were shot dead on Thursday in the Upper Kurram Tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. As a result of this most recent act of violence in the northwest province, an emergency has been declared in all local hospitals. 


The instructors were shot in the staff room of the high school in the tehsil, according to the local police. All the teachers were at the building to carry out their exam-related activities.

While riding in a moving car, a teacher was slain in a separate event in Parachinar, the capital of the Kurram district, and a city in Upper Kurram. This incident brings the number of educators killed in a day to eight.

According to the authorities, the teacher, Mohammad Sharif, who died inside the vehicle, attended the same institution. On Shalozan Road, the teacher was shot as he was driving.


The incident has caused the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Kohat to postpone the current matriculation exams till further notice. These exams began on April 28.

The killers are being sought after by the police, but they have not yet been found. Shootings in schools are unusual. In Pakistan, school shootings are uncommon. However, in a gun-and-bomb assault at an army school in Peshawar in December 2016, more than 140 people—mostly students—were killed.

Condemnation

According to President Dr. Arif Alvi, it is unacceptable for individuals who oppose education to abuse teachers.  The head of state denounced the assault and expressed sorrow for the murder of two teachers on duty.

 
Asif Ali Zardari, a former president, and co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, expressed sorrow over the loss of the educators. In a statement, he said that murdering teachers while they were performing their jobs constituted acts of terrorism.

Zardari asserted that "Criminals involved in the killing of teachers should be brought to justice" as he prayed for forgiveness for the deceased.
Sajid Hussain Turi, the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, demanded that the offenders face harsh punishment.
