The achievement of hosting the World Cup is "one evidence of the extraordinary transformation that is unfolding for both Qatar and the broader Middle East and North Africa area (MENA)," according to Sheikha Alanoud Al Thani, Deputy CEO & Chief Business Officer of QFC.
Sheikha Alanoud noted that the Qatari government is fast extending online services for citizens. Launching the strategy mentioned above is a testament to that mandate, with the recent publication of the National Strategy for FinTech this week.
Also, businesses of all sizes are implementing technologies that open up entirely new sectors of the economy. By the end of the decade, the digital economy is on course to quadruple its contribution to GDP.
The Deputy CEO and Chief Business Officer of QFC have emphasized the digital economy sector because this year's International Women's Day is centered around the subject "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality."
The Qatar FinTech Strategy aims to encourage financial industry innovation and diversification and financial sector investment in a knowledge-based economy.
Due to the proliferation and expansion of FinTechs in Qatar, the Qatar Central Bank, the FinTech Strategy will result in real advantages over the following five years.

There are currently six approved FinTech companies; by 2027, the number will have multiplied three to five times. As a result, in terms of direct economic value addition, there will be a 40–50 times rise and 20–50 times more new jobs produced.
Qatar Central Bank says, "Our objective is to enable the State of Qatar's Financial Services ecosystem's digital transformation, promote economic diversification, attract FDI, and cultivate future-oriented skill sets in the financial services industry.
