According to Maj. Gen. Nasr Salem, the former chief of the reconnaissance agency, security in Sinai has been restored thanks to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's prudent leadership.

Salem stated that development and construction had transformed the Sinai Peninsula into a popular residential destination. Several strategic specialists assert that the cities of Arish, Rafah, and Sheikh Zuwaid are experiencing growth in the construction and agricultural sectors.
According to Maj, the political leadership has planned and carried out economic initiatives in Sinai to connect the Peninsula to the country: Gen. Hisham el Halabi, a Nasser Academy counselor.

He pointed out that the "soft power" of diplomacy and the "hard power" of the armed forces work and combine to make up the “smart power.”
Halabi noted that the late President Anwar Sadat had pioneered the use of such "smart power" and that it is necessary to realize the strategic objectives of the State.
Sinai Liberation Day, which occurs on April 25 each year, commemorates the return of Egyptian sovereignty to the Sinai Peninsula after its freedom from foreign rule.
Egyptians honor the officers and soldiers whose sacrifices and efforts resulted in the liberation of Sinai from Israeli occupation on this day.
The beauty of Sinai, which includes popular tourist destinations like Sharm El Sheikh and Dahab, is also celebrated on this day.
