The thugs, allegedly members of the confraternities of Eiye and Aiye, resumed their struggle for domination while disregarding prudence. The incident happened the day after the governor said the state would treat cultism as terrorism because of the area's worrying cultism rate.
Three people were killed in the incident, which began on Tuesday and continued until Friday as locals fled. According to our correspondent, the three killed people stopped some of the town's commercial activity.
Further information revealed that numerous more people were hurt during the attack, causing locals to stay inside. One of the casualties, an employee at an Ijokun petrol station, was shot in the head on Friday night, according to a local who asked to remain anonymous.

The incident was confirmed by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who also said that many of the cultists had been detained by the police.
He verified that cultists killed three people in Sagamu but that many had previously been apprehended. He continued by saying that the tactical units have to be ready as instructed by the police commissioner. Many of those being pursued by this team have already been taken into custody. More people, he claims, will be arrested.
