We cannot advance if we abandon some people behind - Ruto in a meeting with Jubilee MPs

According to President William Ruto, all elected officials in Kenya must cooperate in carrying out the people's agenda.

After meeting with Jubilee Party lawmakers on Monday, Ruto said the nation could only advance if other leaders were included.

"To successfully forward the agenda of the Kenyan people, we must assemble a more extensive and better team. We cannot advance our country if we leave others behind, "he explained.

.
As a member of the larger Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance, Jubilee ran against Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance in the August 2022 elections.

Some party leaders have mostly continued to be Ruto's administration's detractors, while others have opted to cooperate with the President.

The action is a component of the President's plan to oppose opposition leader Raila Odinga, who is scheduled to conduct a sizable rally in Nairobi today.

Kenya Kwanza lawmakers encouraged President Ruto to contact the Jubilee group inside the Azimio coalition on Sunday to deflect the opposition's onslaught.

Those present include EALA MP Kanini Kega,, Irene Njoki (Bahati), Zachary Kwenya Thuku ( Kinangop),  Nominated MP Sabina Chege, Shadrach Mwiti ( Douth Imenti), Mark Mwenje ( Embakasi West), Amos Mwago ( Starehe), Dan Karitho ( Igembe Central), Stanley Muthama ( Lamu West) and Joseph Githuku (Lamu Senator).
