How to apply for the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships worth $50,000
Honoring the memory of Major-General Georges P. Vanier, Canada's first French-speaking Governor General, the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program helps Canadian institutions attract highly qualified doctoral students.
This scholarship is open to both Canadian and international Ph.D. students studying at Canadian universities.
Eligibility:
The Program takes into account three equally weighted selection criteria , namely academic excellence, research potential, and leadership skills (potential and demonstrated).
Benefits:
The scholarships amount to $50,000 per year for three years during doctoral studies.
Application:
Applicants must be nominated by a Canadian institution with a quota * to host Vanier Scholars. Candidates can only request a nomination from the institution where they wish to study.
The term "quota" refers to the maximum number of applications that an institution is authorized to submit to the national competition.
