Seton Hall standout's second season with the Bucks is over

Sandro Mamukelashvili, a second-year forward selected by the Milwaukee Bucks as the 54th overall choice in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Seton Hall, has left the team.

Since joining the squad, Mamukelashvili has appeared in 65 games for the Bucks. Still, he has yet to establish a reliable position. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Milwaukee allegedly discussed his future options with his legal counsel.

In 24 games with Milwaukee this season, the big man, 23, has averaged just 2.4 points and 2.3 rebounds. Also, he only receives about nine minutes per game, which is unfavorable for a young player hoping to have a long NBA career. Mamukelashvili played 9.6 minutes per game, averaging 3.2 points and 2.1 rebounds.

Although it is still being determined whether Sandro Mamukelashvili can find work elsewhere, the Bucks' decision to release him is unsurprising. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, and the recently acquired Jae Crowder all contribute to Milwaukee's frontcourt's overabundance of quality.

The Bucks have already let go of Jordan Nwora and Serge Ibaka to solve their significant man shortage. Mamukelashvili's departure is another step in their effort to streamline the roster.
