POWER METAL RESOURCES SAYS DRILLING IS EXPECTED TO START SHORTLY AT THE MOLOPO FARMS COMPLEX PROJECT IN SOUTHWESTERN BOTSWANA

An update has been provided by Power Metal Resources PLC (AIM: POW) on the Molopo Farms Complex Project. This project is targeting the discovery of large-scale nickel-copper-platinum group element (PGE) in southwestern Botswana. Drilling is expected to start shortly.

The chief executive officer of Power Metal Resources, Paul Johnson, in a statement, commented: “Our work at Molopo Farms is gathering pace with the parameters for the first two diamond core drill holes into Target 1-6 now confirmed. With the drill rig now on site, we expect to start drilling the first priority target hole shortly.”

“Significantly, based on recently completed 3D geophysical modelling, the strike-length of the priority conductor at T1-6 is interpreted to be 2,600m, a considerable target.”

He added, “We are working closely with the team in Botswana who have done an incredible job thus far. It is less than a month since the initial geophysical survey findings at T1-6 that inspired this acceleration to drill, and I look forward to providing further progress updates.”

The company, on September 8, 2022, gave an update which regarded the progress being made at Molopo farms towards its first managed and operated programme of drilling diamonds.

It noted the completion of a high-resolution ground magnetic geophysics (Ground-Mag) survey over high-priority targets 1-6 (T1-6), which covers an area of about 2,700 metres (m) by 1,600m.

It also noted that there was the identification of a strong east-west trending magnetic anomaly close to the southern edge of the survey area. The magnetic inversions of this recently identified anomaly show that the down-dip extent of the southerly dipping EM conductor is intersected by the magnetic body identified by the ground-based MLEM survey over T1-6 completed previously.

As an outcome of geophysics work at T1-6 completed recently, as well as the completion of the extensive 3D analysis and inversion modelling, Power Metal said two priority drill holes had been planned for T1-6.

In preparation for the start of the programme, there is clearance and preparation of the two drill collar sites.
