Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube condemned the assault and ordered the police to use all available resources to track down those responsible. She asserted that the Police must search the entire province for these gunmen so that they can be brought to justice.
Following a string of violent occurrences, Dube-Ncube said the province would launch a community mobilization campaign against crime. "We will never give up our province to criminals who have gained confidence and are inciting fear among the populace."
She also directed the Department of Community Safety and Liaison to collaborate closely with locals to assist the Police in their investigations. According to her, community safety and security necessitate an integrated approach from all stakeholders.
To address this issue, therefore, the government, business, civic society, and community policing forums must collaborate. "We will never win the war against crime if community members continue to protect criminals that liveĀ among them," she stated further.
