The PDP candidate, who arrived at Ekwueme Square in Awka at around 2:10 p.m., met and spoke with the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, behind closed doors at the Governor's Lodge in Amawbia.
After that, Atiku traveled to the Government House in Awka to meet with the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council Chairman, Igwe Alfred Achebe, and the Obi of Onitsha.
If elected president of Nigeria in the country's election on February 25, 2023, Atiku promised to unite the country, address insecurity, and reduce unemployment.
Along with Okowa, the former vice president's running mate, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, the governor of Sokoto State, other party candidates and PDP leaders, including Iyorchia Ayu, the party chairman, also attended.
The party's candidates for the House of Representatives, state Assembly, and Senate were also promoted at the gathering. Atiku committed his followers to bringing Nigerians together by treating each zone fairly and ensuring everyone's security.
Additionally, he pledged to dredge the Niger River and develop Onitsha as a seaport. Without stability, harmony, and security, he claimed, the nation could not create."
Therefore, as president, my goal and duty are to reunite Nigeria, establish peace, and guarantee the nation's citizens appropriate security. He claims to be the first step toward an Igbo presidency, and supporting him; he won't let the Igbos down.
"I'll give each segment its just due. But, first, I appreciate your fantastic reception; he never imagined I would receive it in Anambra State. Igwe Alfred Achebe, the chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers, had earlier stated that the rulers were non-partisan and would only support the victor.
He also claimed that the rulers' duties included leading and directing the affairs of their respective communities through prayer. Atiku would not be seeing them for the first time, Achebe continued, noting that he had already done so in Onitsha during the 2019 general election.
"We hope to elect a president who will foster national harmony, security, and peace. We hope the best for you," he remarked.
Senator Ben Obi, a previous vice presidential candidate, who also spoke at the event, claimed that Atiku chose Ifeanyi Okowa because Ohanaeze had ordered that no Igbo guy from the South-East be selected as anyone's deputy.
He claimed that Atiku chose an Igbo man from Delta State despite his friendship with the Ndigbo as the nation's vice president."Under the Obasanjo administration, Atiku made it possible for Biafra troops to be correctly and formally retired.
He chose Peter Obi as his running mate in 2019, in addition to me. He also wed our daughter; he lives with us and adores the Igbo people, Obi stated.
