King Sunny Ade, born Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye on September 22, 1946, in Osogbo, Nigeria. His father was a church organist and his mother, Maria Adegeye ( née Adesida) was a trader.

However, he made the bold decision to leave the school in Ondo to Lagos state though in disguise to further his academics in University of Lagos but actually left to pursue his musical dreams full-time.

He is proudly a polygamist, and from the looks of things, his wives are happy to be married to him. However, details of when he got married to them are not available.
