The order, according to Jalige, was following the Inspector General of Police's mandate during the state's 23 local government areas' General Elections on Saturday.
The limitation on automotive and pedestrian movement into and within Kaduna State has been strictly enforced, according to Sunday Babaji, the commissioner of police assigned to Kaduna State for election duty.
The command's spokesman, DSP Mohammed Jalige, released a statement on Friday that included the enforcement order. The order, according to Jalige, was following the Inspector General of Police's mandate during the state's 23 local government areas' General Elections on Saturday.
The general public is thus informed that there will be a restriction on mobility on February 25 from 00:00 to 18:00. It covers all of the state's entry points and all 23 local government units.
It is further advised that no major gatherings, political rallies, or campaign events will be permitted during the designated limitation hours, and anyone found violating the order above may face the consequences.
Hence, the command requests that all law-abiding residents of the state abide by this restriction order; all eligible voters are free to cast their ballots without fear of intimidation from anyone.
According to him, the state's polling units and collation centers have all been effectively secured by deploying nearly 16,000 police officers. In addition, a quick Response Team has been established in each Local Government Area to respond to distress calls quickly.
He warned the public to be aware of their surroundings in terms of security while the poll was taking place.
To ensure timely action, he asked residents to report any suspicious activity or individuals to the closest security formation or call the Kaduna Police Command's designated emergency cell phone lines, 08075391105 07039675856.
Thus, the Commissioner of Police asks the public for forgiveness for any inconvenience the limitation may have caused.
