It's Hard To Predict when Gauteng Water Shortages will be fixed - Senzo Mchunu

According to the water and sanitation minister, the province's shortages are being addressed through several measures. Still, citizens must be patient until they are implemented.

According to Mchunu's spokesperson Kamogelo Mogotsi, the minister was aware of the public's annoyance at the water problems plaguing most of the nation.

The minister of water and sanitation stated that although every effort was being made to address the Gauteng water shortages, it was impossible to predict when they would be rectified.

Over the past few weeks, some parts of the province have struggled with little water. According to Rand Water, this was caused by a pump malfunction at their Eikenhof Station.

While South Africa was water-stressed due to the effects of climate change, poor management, and a lack of upkeep of aging infrastructure, the issue was made worse by rolling power outages and a lack of capacity, especially at the local level.

According to Mchunu's spokeswoman Kamogelo Mogotsi, the minister knows how angry the public is about the water woes plaguing most of the nation.

"The department, Rand Water, and municipalities have developed several initiatives, including short-term and long-term strategies. However, Minister Mchunu asked locals to exercise patience as these measures are carried out.

In the meantime, water tankers could be seen throughout the City of Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni.
