Veteran Nigerian musician Eedris Abdulkareem has responded to President Bola Tinubu's administration's proposal to pay 12 million Nigerian families N8,000 over the course of six months in order to mitigate the consequences of the elimination of the petrol subsidy.
According to Naija News, Tinubu announced his intentions to distribute N8,000 to 12 million underprivileged households nationwide.
Within the following six months, he promised, the funds would be given to destitute Nigerians.
The president's strategy on the 800 million dollar loan requests made by the administration of previous President Muhammadu Buhari for the social safety net program was outlined in a letter to the House of Representatives.

He requested that the loan be approved by the House of Representatives.
Eedris Abdulkareem responded to the news by calling the palliative plan a fraud on his Instagram page. The artist asserts that Nigerians do not require handouts but instead require productivity that will result in prosperity.
