How King Charles' coronation would occur in Ghana

The first change is in the king's title. The names for king or chief in several Ghanaian languages include Nana Charles, Nii Charles, Naa Charles, and Togbega Charles in place of King Charles.

Here in Ghana, royalty is not precisely a strange or unknown thing. There are numerous royal families, unlike the British monarchy's single royal house. Before the arrival of colonization, our social and political structure was primarily dependent on royal dynasties holding power.

They now have a constitution with all the necessary institutions and personnel, including a president, a parliament, a court, and ministries. In addition, kings, queens, and chiefs stand on each side of this republic.

Only some Ghanaians would refuse to comply with a request from the chief in their community, even though they might not appear to have much power on paper.

So King Charles wouldn't have to be concerned about becoming the last king or queen if his coronation occurred in Ghana.

As an indication that those countries will abdicate the British monarchy as their head of state, journalists wouldn't be paying any more attention to how or if the prime ministers of Australia, Canada, and New Zealand bow.

The Caribbean leaders attending the ceremony would not be scrutinized for signals of an approaching proclamation of republican status.

They also have extensive experience organizing royal occasions and sympathize with King Charles' challenges in compiling the ceremony's guest list. It would be a complete nightmare here, but everyone would be accommodated.

In Ghana, there would be no report in a tabloid newspaper claiming that Miss Ohene had not received an invitation because Togbega Charles and the organizers would take tremendous measures to accommodate everyone.

This implies that invites would be issued until the morning of the event.

In terms of King Charles' coronation, a critical part of the preparations would revolve around the clothes that would be worn - first by the king himself, then by his elders, who play an essential role in the events, and, of course, by the women - both those who are playing roles and those who are guests.

The kente cloth weavers and our designers and tailors would be highly busy because no one would survive being seen in anything worn by someone else. Every kente would have a story-telling moniker.

Special garments would be made and printed with the king's image, and we'd all strive to outdo each other with the most bizarre fashions.

Ghanaians would show off enough gold to astonish everyone and show that this is, in fact, the land of gold. This was made public by journalist Elizabeth Ohene. The British Crown has a renowned collection of jewelry acquired worldwide. Still, it would be no match on a coronation day here.

They would show enough gold to enchant anybody and prove that ours is the country of riches. They would ensure a color explosion during the occasion. It will be loud, with drums, drummers, and drumming that will blow your head.

If you are unfamiliar with the area, having a local around to explain some of the dances to you would be beneficial because each one tells a narrative.
