Dogboe says, "all is not lost," and expects a quick return after Ramirez's loss

Despite his loss to Robeisy Ramirez in the wee hours of Sunday, April 2, Isaac Dogboe of Ghana remains optimistic that he will take home another global championship at the end of the year.

In what was more of a one-sided contest, Dogboe and Ramirez squared off for the vacant WBO featherweight championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma City. On Sunday, the Cuban completely outclassed the Ghanaian and denied him any chance of returning to the battle.

Dogboe suffered his third defeat in 27 bouts, ending his hopes of winning another world championship after winning the WBO super-bantamweight crown in 2018.
The 28-year-old is optimistic that he will win a second global championship by the end of 2023.


The WBO and WBC still think highly of me. So, not all is gone. But I need to start over, as I previously stated. Following the loss to Robeisy, he said that he spoke to one of the top guys at Top Rank [Promotions], and they are looking, when God allows, at the end of the year.

After 12 rounds of competition, the judges came to a unanimous conclusion in support of the Cuban, awarding him the vacant WBO featherweight title with scores of 117-110, 118-109, and 119-108.
