Brazilian construction firm BN Engenharia said it would oversee the infrastructure work on Brazil's 738-MW solar portfolio owned by Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: CSIQ) and China's State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC).
The company obtained the contract to construct the 446-MW Marangatu and the 292-MWp Panati-Sitia solar farms in the northeastern states of Piaui and Ceara, respectively. They did this in collaboration with local developer Motrice Solucoes em Energia.

For the development of the partnership, SPIC Brasil and Canadian Solar will invest more than BRL 2 billion (USD 399.81m/EUR 366.06m). In June 2022, the local branch of the Chinese conglomerate joined the collaboration by acquiring a 70% share in the two solar projects.
When fully operational, the solar parks should be able to supply over 900,000 families with enough clean electricity each year, according to BN Engenharia.
