Users of MetaMask can now buy cryptocurrency within the app using PayPal

For pushing on-ramp transactions, MetaMask will use PayPal. Currently, Ethereum may be bought using this service.
ConsenSys unveiled a new method for users to buy cryptocurrency via MetaMask on Wednesday, December 14th. ConsenSys is a creator of the Web3 ecosystem and a blockchain engineering company.

Users of MetaMask can now buy cryptocurrency within the app using PayPal

Users will have an easy and practical way to buy cryptocurrency thanks to this PayPal integration with MetaMask. Only a tiny number of MetaMask users in the United States currently have access to this feature; it will eventually be made available to all clients.

By utilizing PayPal and facilitating successful on-ramp transactions, MetaMask becomes the first Web3 wallet. Remember that MetaMask presently only permits the purchase of Ethereum through the PayPal interface (ETH).

One of the most well-liked self-custody wallets among cryptocurrency users is MetaMask. Additionally, it enables the interaction of millions of crypto enthusiasts with additional applications like Play and Earns, NFT marketplaces, DeFi applications, and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs).

Through the MetaMask mobile app, the crypto wallet services supplier is looking to increase and diversify the payment possibilities. Product Manager for MetaMask Lorenzo Santos contributed the following in response to the development:

“This PayPal connectivity will make it simple for our American consumers to explore the Web3 ecosystem and buy cryptocurrency through MetaMask without any issues.”

MestaMask users recently voiced their dissatisfaction with ConsenSys' privacy policy. This occurred after ConsenSys acknowledged that their on-chain wallet service gathers user data.

ConsenSys introduces zkEVM

The zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) network was released by ConsenSys the day before for closed beta testing. Developers would then be able to use tools like MetaMask, Truffle, and Infura to deploy and maintain their decentralized applications directly.

Additionally, this improvement will make it easier for developers to examine their smart contracts and DApps by connecting assets between zkEVM and the Goerli testnet.

ConsenSys commented on the development by saying: Participants in the testnet can interact with deployed apps mentioned on our future ecosystem portal page, bridge tokens, transfer tokens, and more.

We want to find out if the zkEVM's developer experience can speed up innovation in Web3, and we'll be analyzing community input to guide our next move.
